Ty Barnes serves as the Head of Investments at Comunidad Partners, where he spearheads the firm’s acquisition, capital markets, and portfolio management strategies. With over two decades of institutional investment experience, Ty is a primary driver of the firm’s continued growth and investment success.
Prior to joining Comunidad, Ty held senior leadership roles at prominent national investment firms, with a specialized focus on the workforce and affordable housing sectors. His extensive multifamily track record spans workforce, affordable, value-add, and core-plus strategies. Ty’s in-depth sector expertise is complemented by a broad background in office, industrial, mixed-use, hospitality, and retail assets.
In addition to overseeing acquisition strategies, his background also includes innovative financing solutions, capital formation, market selection, real estate tax abatements, asset management, LIHTC compliance and structuring public-private partnerships.
